WHY RAIL AND FLY DEPARTMENT?

One day in July 1997, driving back to my residence, I met an Independent Traveller at a very busy traffic point asking for information - nobody could answer.

Next morning the easiest solution was found: I opened a new department - Rail & Fly!

WHAT IS RAIL AND FLY?

Rail and Fly especially serves the Independent Traveller and the medium and lower budget end of the travel market.

Our receptionists talk fluent English and can give you all the information which you need for a pleasant stay in Myanmar.

WHAT TO DO AFTER CUSTOMS?
Don't get irritated by the many taxi drivers, hotel sellers, trip offers, etc. Take an offical limousine in the airport building (2 counters) or look for a taxi which has a yellow taxi signboard.

APPROXIMATE PRICES FOR TAXI TRANSFERS
Airport to downtown area (Railway station, Sule Pagoda, Chinatown, etc.):

Limousine prices:
US$ 5-8 PER TRANSFER (max. 4 persons)

"Black taxi" offers:
US$ 3 P.P. or US$ 3 PER TRANSFER or TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE (because taxi driver getting commission from guest houses)

Street taxi:
Available outside of the airport compound (appr. 100 meters from airport building) at the Pyay Road: US$ 2 PER TRANSFER (max. 4 persons)

Saturday and gazetted holidays: 09:00 a.m. - 02:00 p.m.
